Jhonas Enroth was selected 46th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. After spending six seasons with the Sabres, Enroth made quick stops in Dallas, Los Angeles and Toronto, before moving overseas to play in the KHL.
After spending most of last season bouncing around the AHL with the Toronto Marlies and the San Diego Gulls as a backup goalie, the Stockholm, Sweden has a starting role with HC Dinamo Minsk.
Despite being the team’s starter, HC Dinamo Minsk will be without the 29-year-old for at least one game as he was suspended by the league on Tuesday afternoon for attacking an opposing player with his blocker.
After getting completely knocked over by Vityaz Podolsk’s Borna Rendulic and allowing a goal, Enroth decided to take matters into his own hands and fired away at Rendulic’s head while he tried to play it off like it was a mistake.
Enroth received a five-minute major for roughing and a 20-miniute game misconduct for his actions and kicked out of the game for the final nine minutes.
