Brandon Kozun tore up the Western Hockey League during his time with the Calgary Hitmen from 2006-2010. In his 217 career games with the Hitmen, Kozun scored 92 goals and added 178 assists for 270 points, while totaling 158 penalty minutes and a +103 rating. However, things didn’t exactly go as planned once he was drafted by his hometown Los Angeles Kings in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Kozun spent his entire time with the Kings organization playing for their AHL affiliate the Manchester Monarchs. He was then traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 2013-14 season, and went on to play 55 games with the Toronto Marlies over the course of two seasons, and played 20 games with the Leafs in 2014-15 before he departed for the KHL.

Now a member of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, Kozun has looked like his WHL-self ever since he arrived in the KHL. In a recent game against Spartak Moscow, Kozun sent opposing defenceman Yury Sergiyenko flying over the boards almost immediately after a faceoff following a Spartak goal.

Sergiyenko was expecting to get bumped, but did not expect to get sent up into the air like that and going over the boards definitely caught him and everyone else by surprise.

Kozun has 14 goals and 35 points through 40 games this season, and has totaled 33 penalty minutes in that span. Last season with Jokerit, the 26-year-old had 15 goals and 49 points through 58 games, as well as 67 penalty minutes.
