The Mississauga Steelheads and the Sarnia Sting went head-to-head in OHL action on Friday night in a game between two teams heading in different directions early on into the season.
The Steelheads entered Friday’s contest at the bottom of the Central Division with a 1-4 record through five games, while the Sting entered a point out of first place in the West Division with a 6-1 record through seven games.
After taking a 1-0 lead just over 13 minutes into the game, the Sting added to their lead a couple of minutes later thanks to a phenomenal goal from Calgary Flames prospect Adam Ruzicka.
The goal gives Ruzicka six goals in his last four games and eight on the season and he’s also got six assists for a total of 14 points in eight games.
Last year, the 18-year-old potted 25 goals and 21 assists for 46 points in 61 games and happened to catch the eye of the Flames scouts since they selected him 109th overall in last summer’s draft.
