Realistically, nobody has made a huge splash in free agency yet, but with Edwin gone and little optimism surrounding Bautista’s return, things were looking grim for the Blue Jays. However, that all changed last night thanks to a tweet from Jesse Sanchez. The report was that Bautista and the Blue Jays were finalizing the deal and things only got better when Marcus Stroman basically confirmed it.
Still, when the news broke, Blue Jays fans were filled with cautious excitement. You want to celebrate, but everyone knows nothing is official yet, which is a feeling that Kevin Pillar perfectly summed up with this tweet.
