Everyone knows how passionate Canadians are for hockey.
It's Canada's sport, and while this country can take great pride in international success, fans of the seven Canadian clubs haven't been able to take pride in their team's success.
Since the 2005-06 season, only three Canadian teams have made it to a Stanley Cup Final, and all three lost.
The Oilers, who lost the Cup to the Hurricanes in seven games in that 2005-06 season, haven't made the playoffs since, but that drought is likely to end this season, and we imagine fans are very excited about that.
Whether the Oilers are winning or losing, one thing is all but guaranteed, the fans will let you know about it.
They're extremely passionate, and anyone questioning that passion would immediately feel foolish upon arriving at baggage claim at the Edmonton International Airport.
The move to bring in the Oilers themed carousel was made in 2012, so this is a little TBT on this Thursday, but it's also a public service announcement as we imagine there are many hockey fans out there unaware of the carousels.
In addition to an Oilers carrousel, the airport also has an Edmonton Eskimos and Edmonton Oil Kings carousel.
Next time you travel to Edmonton, we recommend checking out the unique sports-themed carousels.
If anything, they would make for a good selfie or two, but more importantly, they help outsiders understand just how passionate the fans are.
