Eddie Lack is a lovable character in the NHL, which is perhaps why many were so concerned with his well-being after a scary collision at the end of the Hurricanes’ game against the Red Wings.
Lack ended showing a thumbs up as he was leaving on the ice on a stretcher, and he also shared messages afterword on Twitter stating that he was okay. Still, people were hoping for his return to the ice soon, and hoping that he has access to the one thing he loves most: Tacos.
If you didn’t know, Lack has an affinity for tacos and even has a tattoo of one on his arm.
That inspired a young boy to draw this picture, wishing Lack a speedy recovery alongside a big taco.
As you can see, Lack was so appreciative of the young boy’s drawing, that he met with him and gave him a signed stick. It wouldn’t have been hard for them to meet up, because the boy is a son of a Hurricanes staff member.
If you’re into hockey analytics, you may even know of the boy’s father.
Seth is Eric Tulsky’s son, who is an analyst for the Hurricanes. Eric is credited as one of the founding fathers of hockey analytics, as much of his work laid the foundation for topics people are still trying to understand more today, like zone entries and exits. Tulsky originally shared out his son’s drawing two days ago, which caught Lack’s eye.
