Kevin Durant is a pretty polarizing figure in the basketball community at the moment, as his decision to sign with the Warriors had a major impact on the NBA Finals.
Of course, the series was already a close one of the past two years with largely similar teams, but as Durant was added to the roster, the Cavs couldn’t keep up – especially at home for Golden State. As they say, haters are going to hate, but one group of fans that definitely appreciates KD’s move is Dub Nation.
Durant clearly appreciates them too, as he exited his car on the way out of the arena to celebrate one more time with a group of fans standing outside cheering them on.
This is like what Guy Boucher and the Senators did for Ottawa fans at the airport but on an even bigger scale. Include the fact that he brought his Finals MVP trophy out to celebrate with them, it just adds to the moment for those fans.
Pretty cool move from KD, although we don’t expect Cleveland fans to feel any better seeing this.
