Goalie Kevin Boyle is heading into his second season with the Anaheim Ducks’ AHL affiliate the San Diego Gulls after resigning a one-year, two-way contract extension through the 2017-18 season this past summer.
Since the AHL season is set to get underway on Friday night, the 25-year-old unveiled his new mask for the upcoming season on the eve of opening night.
Designed by Shell Shock Designs in Fairbury, Nebraska, the mask features past and present Anaheim Ducks logos and also includes an incredible Game of Thrones theme on it.
As awesome as Boyle’s new mask is, we’re a little upset he decided to change things up this year because his mask from last season included incredible tributes to Teemu Selanne, The Mighty Ducks’ Goldberg, and his grandma.
The Manalapan, New Jersey native went 10-5-1 in 19 games with the Gulls last season and also posted a 2.27 goals against average and a .924 save percentage in that span.
