There's no denying that Toronto is one of the biggest and best hockey markets in the NHL.
'The fans absolutely love their Leafs and they're always opinionated and passionate regardless of whether the team is winning or losing.
Toronto is on the up-and-up as they made the playoffs this past season for the second time since the 2005-06 season, so the hype figures to be very high this offseason.
Of course, the hype was incredible last offseason as well due to Auston Matthews and the potential of Steven Stamkos signing with the team.
This summer, all eyes are on John Tavares as the Leafs faithful awaits what will happen with him.
Thursday, Kings defenceman Drew Doughty joined Leafs Lunch and gave an interesting take on why some players may not choose to sign in Toronto:
Some players love the attention that comes with playing in a city like Toronto, but others like Doughty enjoy being able to go out and not being recognized.
Obviously Drew is a superstar and we're sure some people know who he is when he's out and about in Los Angeles, but it's not even close to the reaction Matthews would get going out in Toronto.
Doughty did, however, reveal that he has a soft spot for Toronto.
Reminder, he's a UFA soon. Let the rumours begin.
