The Golden State Warriors play in Oklahoma City for the first time this season tonight, which means that it is the first time Kevin Durant will play there since before he switched sides.
Durant received a lot of hate for switching to the rival Warriors, including people burning his jersey. Much of that resentment stays with Thunder fans to this day, which seems to have Kevin Durant worried. ESPN writer, Chris Haynes, reported that Kevin Durant has helped arrange for the Warriors to triple their security for the trip.
The increased protection hasn’t gone unnoticed with the other players.
Draymond Green snapchatted a photo of some of the extra security in the Warriors hotel room, stating “lol this KD things a big deal!!!”.
Hopefully everyone stays safe.
One Warrior, who received a threat from Russell Westbrook personally, will definitely be safe for the game. Zaza Pachulia didn’t make the trip because a strain in his right rotator cuff, but he may have needed some extra security on the court if he came. After knocking down and standing over Westbrook in the teams’ last matchup, the Thunder’s star had this to say after the game.
