Drake is no stranger to showing his love to sports teams and athletes. Despite being the global ambassador of the Toronto Raptors, the 6ixGod isn’t afraid of cheering whatever team happens to be generating the most buzz or fandom at any particular moment.
The Toronto rapper uploaded a picture of Sarah Nurse, who potted a goal in Canada’s win over the United States on Thursday morning.
Drake captioned the Instagram story saying “only in Canada will you find a sweeter ting that’s going top cheese for a Gino.”
If you were in Nurse’s position, that would feel pretty cool getting recognition from the high-profile artist. We often see Drake mingling with the most prolific athletes around, so it’s pretty neat to see him show some love to our Olympic athletes and know he's showing support to our fellow Canadians during the Winter Games.
Nurse is the cousin of Team Canada basketball star Kia Nurse and Edmonton Oilers defenceman Darnell Nurse.
