After Kyrie Irving became Uncle Drew, similar disguises have become one of the most popular pranks for professional athletes to pull.
With what makeup can do in today’s world, the players can often look unrecognizable, but obviously still have the same unbelievable talent, which can make for a shocking display. On a Korean television show, Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda was the latest to perform one of these pranks.
As expected, he made that kid look foolish. Maeda spent all season making MLB hitters look foolish, so there is no shame in that kid whiffing on a couple of pitches. He racked up 179 Ks in 175.2 innings in his first year in the MLB.
Here are some of the other “Uncle Drew” style pranks that have been made in the past couple years. Peter Forsbergs was close, but nothing will ever be as good as the original. Don’t reach Youngblood.
