Monday morning, Jays fans probably woke up to the news that the team and Jose Bautista are on the verge of a new contract.
Heading into the offseason, all signs pointed towards Toronto losing both Edwin Encarnacion and Jose Bautista.
Only one of those players is gone, though, as Edwin is now in Cleveland, but Bautista surprisingly still doesn't have a contract, and it appears as though it's very likely he'll be back in blue and white come next season.
If the reports are not enough to get you believing that a deal is on the horizon, maybe this tweet from Marcus Stroman will as he all but confirmed that Bautista is back.
Again, nothing has been confirmed, but Stroman seems confident he's signed a new deal, which should make every Jays fan feel confident of that fact.
If you still need more evidence, though, Bautista liked Stroman's tweet.
Bautista has spent nine seasons in Toronto and is second in franchise history in home runs behind Carlos Delgado.
Although it seemed like the slugger wouldn't be back with the Blue Birds, we're certainly happy it looks like he will be back with the team.
