And the Kyrie Irving drama continues.

After news leaked that Irving recently requested to be traded from Cleveland, his teammates had different reactions. Kevin Love, who has been teammates with the point guard for three seasons, hilariously responded to a tweet with an ambiguous one of his own. LeBron on the other hand, decided to post a highlight reel of Ray Allen despite already knowing the news, according to reports.

Things got interesting on Sunday, after Stephen A. Smith broke some head-scratching news. While being featured on ESPN, Smith said that according to a source, LeBron is the person responsible for Friday’s reports that Irving wants out of Cleveland. He begins discussing the matter at 2:10.

Here’s another look at what he said:

The following is an excerpt from ESPN:

“According to my sources, they believe LeBron James had everything to do with news getting out that Kyrie Irving wants to be traded, because Kyrie Irving and his representation and others met with the Cavaliers a couple weeks ago, and not a word got out until recently. They believe that LeBron James got word of it and was put off by it and leaked it. I’m not going to accuse LeBron of such a thing. I don’t know that to be true at all. But I know that’s what Kyrie Irving believes.”

If you thought the whole keeping Irving in Cleveland thing was still going to happen, you can say goodbye to that. The better question is whether or not his relationship with LeBron is salvageable at this point.

Irving has a no trade clause but is reportedly still interested in heading to either New York, San Antonio, Minnesota or Miami. Whether a deal is reached or not, this whole debacle hasn’t looked very good on Cleveland, and it’s looking as though the end of a short dominant era is near.

The situation will be an interesting one to monitor over the next few weeks.
