Since retiring from the Late Show, David Letterman has disappeared from the public eye. The former late night host was always a bit of a recluse, but his television show forced him into the public eye every weeknight from 1982 until 2015. Since then, he has for the most part remained away from the spotlight.
On Thursday night at the Verizon Center in Washington, Mr. Letterman was in attendance to see the Capitals take on the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 1 of their second round match up.
Letterman may not enjoy the limelight anymore, but seeing Crosby versus Ovechkin is hard to pass up!
The reason Letterman's playoff beard is so epic? Well, he's been growing the beard since he retired back in 2015.
