After months and months of waiting for the McGregor-Mayweather bout to get announced, it turns out that announcement might actually be around the corner.
The two have gone back and forth trash talking each other for quite a while now and have made it clear that the biggest reason as to why nothing has been agreed upon yet is because they can’t seem to agree to terms on the financial side of things.
However, UFC president Dana White recently spoke to MMA Junkie about the entire thing and gave fans an idea of how much each fighter will make if the fight goes down.
According to White, the fight will not be under the UFC’s name and will see Mayweather take home north of $100 million, while McGregor will end up with nearly $75 million.
“At the end of the day, does this fight make a ton of sense for me? It really doesn’t. Conor wants this thing really bad, and I’ve said it many times, the kid’s stepped up and saved some big fights for me. So I’m in. I’ll figure it out,” White said.
If these numbers are accurate, Mayweather will take home four times as much as White originally offered him, which makes a lot of sense as to why the undefeated boxer laughed in the UFC president’s face when he first offered him $25 million for the fight.
