Unlike last year, though, when they beat the Capitals to open the season, the Penguins lost their season opener 5-4 in overtime to the St. Louis Blues.

It was an eventful game for Penguins captain Sidney Crosby as he recorded a goal and an assist, but he also was penalized twice (hooking, tripping), and while in the box, Crosby displayed his anger by leaving a mark on the glass with his stick.

Angry Crosby on opening night is another reason why we love hockey right now.

Whether it's game 82 or the first game of the season, the emotions are high for every player because wins early in the season can go a long way when it comes to the playoffs.
