Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid (Along with a couple other players) have been toe-to-toe in the Art Ross and Hart Trophy race.
Sidney Crosby’s latest push was not just one of the goals of the year, but one of the best we’ve ever seen. After his patented split of defenders at the blue line, Crosby charged toward the net, holding off one defender with one arm, and shooting the puck with his other.
Yes, you’ve probably seen the goal already (If you haven’t click here), but Crosby goes nearly top corner with a one-handed backhander. It was just the latest in the season-long game of horse Crosby and McDavid have seemed like they’re playing.
That game of horse inspired our latest BarDown Toonz comic from the supremely talented PengellyInk.
Of course, if you haven’t checked the NHL leaderboards, you should know that McDavid wasn’t nearly as scared as he looks in this photo. In fact, he answered the bell with a three-point effort and a beautiful goal that put him well ahead of Crosby and the other near-by players (Brad Marchand, Patrick Kane and Nicklas Backstrom) in the scoring race.
So, Crosby, we guess that means it’s your turn again.
