Last night, before Chris Kunitz ended the game in double Overtime, there was a moment that from one angle looked like Phil Kessel won the game.

In overtime, Kessel cut wide around the D and chipped a shot off the crossbar, just missing a game-winning goal. When the puck hit the crossbar, it made a tiny hop onto the top of the net, and bounced off the back crossbar before falling back down off the front. From the side angle (Watch it here), it clearly wasn’t a goal. From the overhead look (Watch it here), it looks a lot like the puck went in.

So, you’ll never guess which one they showed in the arena…

Now, as we’ve discussed many times throughout the year, Craig Anderson is by all accounts a great guy. So it makes sense that he would try to help out the Pens fans by explaining what happened during the stoppage in play.

Unfortunately for Anderson, the puck wasn’t on top of the net for the final goal, but the Senators and Anderson’s wife could not be more proud of the team’s performance this season. And those disgruntled Penguins fans can’t be too upset anymore either.

The #Penguins punch their ticket to the #StanleyCup Final for the second year in a row.
