There’s a reason Canadians feel pride in being able to handle the cold. In places like Ottawa, Quebec, Winnipeg, Edmonton and other northern cities, the cold can become seriously dangerous and unless you’re used to those extremes, it can be hard to prepare yourself for.
For example, even with someone who lives in Colorado, a place that does get a Canadian-style winter, the cold in Winnipeg yesterday was absolutely overwhelming.
This reporter with the Colorado Avalanche broadcast team was outside during the team’s game against the Jets and his description of the weather was hilarious.
This wasn’t the only time that he mentioned the cold in Winnipeg. He was also tweeting about it all trip.
Honestly, what might be a better idea when going to an intersection described to you as the coldest one in Canada, is to wear a toque. Your ears are going to freeze in most parts of Canada walking around without a hat on.
Either way, we hope this reporter made it back safe and his assignment wasn’t literally, as he put it, a death sentence.
Remember to dress warm, kids!
