As the old saying goes, "It's not over until it's over."  The saying is just a cryptic way of saying that until that final buzzer or whistle sounds, it's not over, no matter what the score may be.

This college basketball announcer found that out first hand as a game between Montevallo and Young Harris was coming to an end.  Up three in the final seconds, Montevallo had a chance to ice it with a free throw.

Unfortunately, they missed and Young Harris had a chance to throw up a prayer to tie it and send the game to overtime, and that 's exactly what they did.

As incredible as the game-tying buzzer-beater was, however, the reaction of the announcer was somehow even better.

Tommy Jenkins, the announcer, will go down in history thanks to that incredible call.

After what New England did in the Super Bowl, Jenkins should have known a comeback was possible, though.

That being said, he learned a valuable lesson that we sometimes forget in sports, don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Young Harris still lost in overtime, but the call overshadowed the defeat, and the buzzer-beater.
