At the beginning of the NFL season there was a lot of talk about Tom Brady's future with the New England Patriots. At 39 years old, Brady stuck on the bench (suspended), and Jimmy Garoppolo under centre, the opportunity for the youngster to take Brady's starting spot was there. The probability of it actually happening were slim to none, but there was a chance.
Enter Tom Brady, throwing 28 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions on the season. That conversation about Bill Belichick moving on from Brady should probably be dead, no?
Well, not for Colin Cowherd, who we can always count on for the hottest takes in sports.
Here's Cowherd explaining why Belichick will have a tough decision to make if Brady plays poorly on Sunday:
The biggest problem in Cowherd's argument is that Garoppolo is still under contract next season, so a decision doesn't have to be made by opening day 2017. Oh, and also Brady looks like he could compete for two or three more Super Bowls at this point. So there's that.
We get it - Father Time is undefeated. But this is Tom Brady we're talking about. What do you think; does Belichick push Brady out the door like he did with players like Lawyer Milloy and Logan Mankins, or does the future Hall of Fame quarterback get a bit of a cushion to work with?
