Clayton Kershaw is starting to be considered as one of the best pitchers of all time and often is considered the best pitcher of his generation.
However, as many greats have in the career, he’s struggled to achieve his ultimate goal of winning a World Series title. Although he has been as dominant in the post season as he has in the regular season over his career, he has hardly been the person to blame for the Dodgers failure to win the championship.
Still, he’ll never share that opinion. These athletes are harder on themselves than anyone else and you’ll see that in how Kershaw reacted to losing the World Series. He said this to Josh Peters of USA Today:
“Maybe one of these days I won't fail, we won’t fail and we’ll win one of these things.”
It just goes to show you, that if you’re going online and try to troll some of these athletes, you can’t say anything that these athletes haven’t already thought themselves.
As far as we’re concerned, Kershaw did everything he could. Obviously he would have hoped for a different outcome in his second start, but the Dodgers had plenty of chances to win that game regardless of the runs he allowed. Last night, the bats just didn’t seem to come through at the right time.
