For his entire tenure with the Minnesota Wild, Chris Stewart has had a pregame ritual that he performs on his way to to warmups every game – a routine that has now become known as the #StewieSprint.
The hashtag does a pretty good job at telling you what it is, but you never really know until you see it in action.
Stewart, in his full hockey gear, sprints from the locker room to the ice. Obviously it’s pretty rare to see anybody running full speed in full hockey gear and skates, but add in that he’s 6’2” and 240 pounds, he’s bound to startle some people along his way, which has made for some very entertaining videos – starting with last night when he almost ran into Joel Eriksson-Ek at the ACC.
It’s no wonder that it’s become so popular among Minnesota Wild fans, it’s hilarious. Fans have even started doing their own versions of it.
