Artemi Panarin put on quite the show for hockey fans in his first two NHL seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks, but next season he’ll get a fresh start with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The trade shocked a lot of people, including Panarin, due to the fact that the 25-year-old reached the 30-goal mark each season and totaled 151 points in 162 games, but now he’s looking to prove to everyone that he’s able to produce without Patrick Kane.
The Russian has been having some fun with his new team since he landed in Columbus and on Wednesday night he unveiled his fashionable new kicks he plans on rocking this season.
Panarin’s nickname is Bread Man and he’s embraced it ever since he joined the NHL.
Last season, the Blackhawks had some fun with Panarin’s nickname and made sure to include a loaf of bread on his bobblehead for their special giveaway night.
He also starred alongside Brian Campbell in the team’s Soup and a Sandwich web series.
As much as he’d like to be sponsored by Panera Bread, the Blue Jackets are probably hoping he doesn’t get an unlimited supply of bread anytime soon.
