CC Sabathia has been a member of the New York Yankees since 2009 and he played a key role in the franchise’s last World Series title, which happened to come that same year.

After spending the past 11 years of his career in New York, the Yankees faithful might have witnessed the 39-year-old’s final start at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night and he received an incredible ovation as he was pulled from the game after 2.2 innings of work.

Sabathia experienced it all with the Yankees, from the best of times to the lowest of times, and there were nothing but cheers for the 6-time All-Star as he exited what’s most likely going to be his final start in the Yankees pinstripes.

Sabathia sits fourth in Yankees history in strikeouts with 1,698 and sits 16th in most strikeouts in MLB history.
