Well, it didn't take long for shots to be fired ahead of the Oilers and Ducks second round series, which begins Wednesday night.
Players and coaches from both teams spoke to the media before the game and Ducks head coach Randy Carlyle fired the first shots of the series at the Oilers:
During the regular season, the Oilers were 30th in faceoff percentage at 47% while the Ducks led the league in faceoff win percentage at 54.7%.
Through one playoff series, the numbers are relatively the same for both teams (Ducks at 53.4%, Oilers at 47.2%) and complaining about faceoffs is somewhat of a normality in the playoffs now:
Another matchup hockey fans are looking forward to watching in this series is Ryan Kesler versus Connor McDavid, but as Kesler explained, the game is much bigger than the matchup of two star players.
Safe to say there are many reasons for fans to be excited for this series.
