What are the two most important things to remember on this fine Wednesday? The NHL is back and so is Jaromir Jagr.
When the puck officially drops on the 2017-18 NHL season, Jaromir Jagr will begin his 24th campaign in the league. That's a whole lot of hockey. As mentioned in SportsCentre's 'By the Numbers' on Jagr, the year the Czech forward was born, 1972, Bobby Orr won his third straight Hart trophy.
During Jagr's two decade stint in the league a few franchises have come and gone. This year the NHL welcomes its 31st team, the Las Vegas Golden Knights, who will be the 36th team that Jagr has played against when the faceoff versus the Flames on January 30th.
So who are the other five teams that Jagr's played against that are no longer around? Well, we assume you clicked to find out, so here they are.
Minnesota North Stars (Last year in the league: 1993)
Quebec Nordiques (Last year in the league: 1995)
Winnipeg Jets [First time around] (Last year in the league: 1996)
Hartford Whalers (Last year in the league: 1997)
Atlanta Thrashers (Last year in the league: 2011)
With 1,711 games under his belt Jagr is edging close to a number of career milestones this season, including the all-time league leader in games played. We know Jagr said that this is likely his final season in the league, but here's to hoping he performs out of his skates and decides to stick around for a few more.
