Cam Newton issues apology for his recent comments to female reporter

Cam Newton put himself in a bad spot on Wednesday afternoon after he dismissed a female reporter’s question during a media conference.

While Newton was at the podium, Charlotte Observer reporter Jourdan Rodrigue asked the Carolina Panthers quarterback about Devin Funchess’ route running so far this season and Newton responded with , “it’s funny to hear a female talk about routes.”
 

As expected, Newton faced a lot of backlash for the comment he made during the media conference and even lost some of his sponsors like Dannon.

On Thursday, Newton shared a video on his Twitter account of him apologizing for his comments and telling young fans not to be like him and to try to be a better person than him.
 

Newton won’t get any of his lost sponsors back and most likely lost some fans due to his comments, but his public apology was a step in the right direction.
