This grab is a bonafide catch of the year candidate based on effort alone.
Sunday, Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton made a sensational catch that will have you both rubbing your eyes in amazement, and wincing in pain from watching him slam into a wall at full speed. In the bottom of the sixth inning of the Minnesota-Cleveland game, Buxton robbed Carlos Santana of an extra base bit, tossing himself at a ball in centrefield before dropping to the ground like a sack of bricks.
Painfully awesome is the only way to describe that play. Buxton is certainly an athlete that firmly believes in putting it all on the line each and every game, no matter what the score is.
The Twins went on to lose 8-3, but it definitely wasn't due to a lack of effort.
