The Calgary Flames are white hot right now after beating the Pittsburgh Penguins Monday night 4-3 in a shootout to extend their winning streak to 10 games.
The game likely wouldn't have needed a shootout, however, if not for a controversial Sidney Crosby goal late in the third period.
The Flames challenged the call on the ice of a good goal, but after review, the officials ruled there was no goalie interference and the goal stood.
After the game, Elliott was asked about the challenge and he didn't hold back to say the least:
Penguins fans are probably having flashbacks to the Stanley Cup Final right now when Logan Couture called out Crosby for cheating on faceoffs.
Elliott has every right to be upset about the call, and we imagine most goalies would be upset about it, too, but we don't think many would 'call out' Crosby for it.
Regardless, Elliott didn't allow a goal in the shootout and he hasn't lost a game in regulation since February 13th. Calgary's in second in the Pacific with 82 points, 7 back of the Sharks for first place.
