Brian Boyle was the Toronto Maple Leafs biggest acquisition at the NHL trade deadline this year, and he’s been making their decision look like a smart one ever since.
Mainly replacing Ben Smith in the lineup, he has been a significant upgrade. He only added to his contributions yesterday when he basically secured the Leafs’ first playoff win of the year with a ridiculous behind the back pass to Kasperi Kapanen. A Leafs fan was the biggest story of the night, but Brian Boyle made something out of some Caps fans too.
Of course, the whole team was pretty pumped up after the goal and they were celebrating along the glass. Then some caps fans started banging on the glass and Boyle decided to have some fun with them.
It’s all in good fun, yes, but we’re sure the Capitals noticed it as well. They will be entering the ACC for the next two games and the Leafs will have to continue their strong play if they don’t want to see the Caps players rubbing it in the noses of the Leafs’ faithful in their own barn.
