The Toronto Maple Leafs have a large spectrum of age groups on their team, with several rookies age 20 and under, some wily and some in between.
Funny enough, the veterans seem to have built a close relationship with the young guys on the team making for a great environment for everyone involved. That includes the fans as they get to enjoy the playful banter that hits social media every once in a while. Recently, it has been a series of harmless chirps directed Mitch Marner’s way.
First it was his dangles in NHL 17 that were put under the microscope by his teammates, now it’s last night’s first pitch at the Blue Jays game.
Marner’s a good teammate though, taking the suggestion in stride and working to be better.
He definitely kept it out of the dirt this time, with a solid throw just a bit outside. Unfortunately for him, he happened to be throwing out the first pitch on the same day as Sidney Crosby, and Crosby showed why he’s one of the best athletes in the world.
