The New England Patriot's did not blow a 17-0 lead to the Atlanta Falcons.
Sunday, the Patriots and the Falcons clashed on Sunday Night Football in a Super Bowl rematch that featured two powerhouse squads that have not been nearly as dominant as they were last season when they last met.
Entering the rematch in Foxborough, the Patriots had lost two out of three home games, while the Falcons were coming off of two straight losses. We're not sure if it was because of the fog, but Sunday's contest wasn't much of a contest at all, with the Patriots cruising to a 23-7 victory, defeating the Falcons yet again, avoiding a second half collapse in the process. But while the game wasn't all that interesting, aside from a few fog related jokes, Tom Brady's reaction post lived up to the hype (as it always does).
The only way the Falcons will get that 'best three out of five' game with the Patriots is if both teams make it back to the Super Bowl. While the Patriots look like they're finally starting to turn the corner and get back to their AFC East dominating ways, the Falcons have struggled mightily, so we may have to wait for that re-rematch.
Also, we're not sure if Brady's artist is trying to reference the prognosticating alligators at Gatorland in Florida with the scaly-skinned soda drinker in the back, but if they are, congrats on yet another flawless cartoon.
