Martial arts press conferences are some of the most dramatic events in all of sports, so we’d thought we’d seen it all up until this point, but we were proven wrong.
Yesterday, Swedish boxer Mikaela Lauren brought out a new move at her press conference with Cecilia Braekhus. She has a tough task ahead of her, as Braekhus, the welterweight champion, has never lost in her boxing career. So, Lauren has decided to try to play some mind games, starting by planting a kiss on her opponent as they came face to face.
You may have expected that to be the point in which things would descend into chaos, because tensions are pretty high at these events. However, both fighters actually ended up handling things pretty well and laughed the whole ordeal off.
Based on the theatrics of the Mayweather/McGregor fight, we’re surprised this didn’t happen there, they basically did everything else.
