Boxer mistakenly connects with refs face, almost knocking him out cold

James ‘Chunky’ DeGale went toe-to-toe with Badou ‘The Ripper’ Jack in an IBF Super Middleweight World Championship Unification bout at the Barclays Center on Saturday night, and the two fighters put on a show for the audience going the distance.

During the fight, the referee had to step in at a point, and Jack mistakenly connected with the refs face. It was obviously a mistake, but if you're a boxer, knocking the ref out mid-fight is not something we would recommend doing.

Jack himself tweeted the highlight, and joked about the in-match incident.

 The bout was declared a majority draw after one of the judges scored it 114-112 for DeGale, while the other two judges scored it 113-113 draw.
