The Blue Jays are a team that has been known to have a lot of fun, so this weekend will be right up their alley.
MLB games from August 25-27 will fall on what the league is calling #PlayersWeekend. Every team will have special jerseys for the weekend and all players will have their clubhouse nicknames on the backs of their jerseys. Today, the Blue Jays revealed the nicknames for every one of their players.
Here’s a full list:
Josh Donaldson – Bringer of Rain (Surprise, Surprise)
Justin Smoak – Moakey
Jose Bautista – Joey Bats
Roberto Osuna – No Panic
Ryan Tepera – Tep
Devon Travis – Mailes
Troy Tulowitzki – Tulo

Other team’s nicknames have been revealed as well, and there are some hilarious names to be on player’s backs. For example, Kyle Seager has poked fun at himself by calling himself “Corey’s Brother”.
It will be a fun weekend in the MLB, but we’re just upset they didn’t think of this before. The greatest nickname ever belongs to former Blue Jay Fred McGriff, and a Crime Dog jersey would have looked exceptional in the crowd at the Dome.
