The last time we saw Bill Murray on a baseball diamond, he was celebrating a World Series title with the Chicago Cubs.
After experiencing a World Series title for the first time in his life, Murray might have fallen in love with winning a little too much.
The 66-year-old co-owns the Charleston RiverDogs, the Class-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. On Thursday, Murray was in attendance for their game, and was hoping to help his team start off the season on a winning note.
Clearly the umpires weren’t having any of his bribe attempt, even if they would have liked to grab it from Murray, but they stood strong and declined to accept it.
The team probably wishes the umpires accepted Murray’s bribe because they ended up losing the game 6-3.
