Sometimes it can be tough trying to fit in as the "new guy" at NHL training camp. Especially when you show up driving a mini-van.
This week NHL camps got underway across the league, allowing players to shake off the cob webs brought on by summer vacation, and reunite with their colleagues like students on the first week of school. American forward Beau Bennett is entering his sixth season in the NHL, and will be the new guy for the third time in his career, having signed a one-year contract with the St. Louis Blues back in July.
Saturday, Bennett shared a special message that some of his new Blues teammates left him by his mini-van, welcoming him to the team. Just kidding, they roasted him.
It may not seem friendly on the surface, but all that message shows is that Bennett is going to get along just nicely with his teammates who have already seemingly welcomed him into their circle with a fun prank. You prank because you care.
Meanwhile, Bennett's former New Jersey Devils teammate, Adam Henriqure, had an important follow up question to the note.
Teammates who prank together, stay together. Just ask Kris Versteeg who has been the prime example of how to troll your friends on Instagram, laying into Jonathan Toews time and time again.
