Sports movies hold a special place in any sports fan's heart. There are hundreds of sport movies and thousands of characters but we have taken it upon ourselves to cut down the list and give you our top 5 favourite characters.

5: Rocky Balboa - Rocky

Rocky is one of the most iconic movies of all time. The character “Rocky Balboa” drives the plot with his inspirational story and subtle humour, enough to grab the fifth spot.
4: White Goodman - Dodgeball
Favourite Quote:
“Go ahead, make your jokes, Mr. Jokey… Joke-maker. But let me hit you with some knowledge. Quit now. Save yourself the embarrassment of losing with these losers in Las Vegas, La Fleur.”
White Goodman has to be a top 5 villain of all time in his own right, so of course he made the list.
3: Greg Goldberg - The Mighty Ducks
Favourite Quote:
“Goldberg: Be careful man, it almost hit me that time!
Charlie Conway: Goldberg, you’re the goalie. It’s supposed to hit you.
Goldberg: Does that sound stupid to anyone else?”
Arguably the best hockey movie ever created, we had to give the nod to the kid in-between the pipes for our number 3.
2: Happy Gilmore - Happy Gilmore
Favourite Quote:
“During high school, I played junior hockey and still hold two league records: most time spent in the penalty box and I was the only guy to ever take off his skate and try to stab somebody.”
Happy gets the second place here because of his blistering slapshot and absolute bomb of a drive, but leaving Grandma with Hal for that long is unacceptable.
