The Blackhawks have been the team notorious for turnover during the near-dynasty over the last decade.
With Pittsburgh wining the last two cups, they likely have the current title for dynasty, but before that the Blackhawks didn’t have many contenders for best team in the last decade. Still, it was shocking to see how many different names they were able to get etched in the Cup over the years. That’s because they seemed to flip their roster after every cup win.
Well, it appears they’re sticking to tradition, because if you look at Jonathan Toews’ latest Instagram post, it’s shocking to see how many of the players in the photo are on different squads now (Plus Shea Weber).
In the photo, from left to right, is Toews, Daniel Carcillo, Trevor Van Riemsdyk, Bryan Bickell, Andrew Shaw, Andrew Desjardins, Shea Weber (Never on the Blackhawks) and Philip Danault.
Other than Weber of course, all of those players were on the 2015 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks. Of that group of players, the only one remaining on the Blackhawks roster is Toews. That’s a lot of turnover in a couple years, so they were all happy to be together again and celebrate their buddy Andrew Shaw’s wedding – which was quite the event.
