We may never find out exactly who leaked the news that Kyrie Irving wants out of Cleveland, but it turns out the situation between Irving and LeBron James is a lot worse than we thought.
On Monday, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith talked about the current situation in Cleveland on the Stephen A. Smith Show, and according to Smith, James is ready to take some shots at Irving. Literally.
In the audio clip above, Smith says that LeBron James is at a point where he would be ready to take a swing at Irving if the two were standing face-to-face right now.
James posted a video of himself on his Instagram story jamming out to Meek Mill’s “Heavy Heart” shortly after the Irving trade request news went public, while Kevin Love tweeted this the moment he heard the news.
Considering one of the lines in Meek Mill’s song is “said they with you when they really not” and one of the lines in Love’s tweet was a direct quote from Irving from earlier this season, it’s safe to say that the two Cavaliers were taking shots at their point guard.
However, whether or not James is ready to take a literal shot at Irving, we’re guessing it’s not going to happen anytime soon and we’ll have to wait for them to go head-to-head next season to see any of the bad blood get put on display.
