Can you believe that we're already more than halfway through the NHL season?
With the All-Star break coming up this weekend, which many view as the unofficial halfway point of the season, before we know it we'll be watching playoff hockey again.
Until then, though, the playoff races in both the Eastern and Western Conferences are sure to excite fans, along with the race for points and goals.
Speaking of, more than halfway through the season, many players are enjoying incredible seasons, and some big names and young guns have already surpassed their point total from last season.
(Note: All stats as of before play Tuesday night)
Connor McDavid, 56 points
The NHL's points leader missed a little less than half of his rookie season due to injury, but he still put up some ridiculous numbers with 48 points in 45 games.
That being said, he's taken his game to another level this season with 56 points in 49 games and a plus 15 rating. He's also one goal away from setting a new career high.
Nikolaj Ehlers, 43 points
While Patrik Laine is getting a lot of the praise in Winnipeg this season, Nikolaj Ehlers deserves just as much praise or even more.
With 43 points in in 50 games, the 2014 first round pick is five points clear of his 38 points in 72 games last season.
Eric Staal, 40 points
Entering play Tuesday night, the Minnesota Wild have the best record in the Western Conference, and a big reason why they're rolling is the play of Eric Staal.
The 32-year-old totalled 39 points last season with the Rangers and Hurricanes in 83 games, but this season he's nearly a point per game player with 40 in 46 contests.
David Pastrnak, 34 points
It's been a good year for 2014 first round picks.
After recording 27 and 26 points over his first two seasons, David Pastrnak is enjoying the best season of his career with 34 points in 43 games.
Pastrnak is also a plus 12 and has a career high 19 goals.
Conor Sheary, 34 points
Everyone knows how good Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Phil Kessel have been this season, but the Penguins have had some surprise contributors as well.
One of those players is Conor Sheary, who went undrafted, and after helping the Penguins win a Cup last season, he's been on a tear this season.
In 39 games, Sheary has 34 points and he's a plus 17. Last season in 44 games, Sheary recorded just 10 points.
