New NBA fans that have chosen to follow the sport more closely or for the first time this season may have noticed the rivalry between Kevin Durant of the Golden State Warriors and Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The two superstars and former teammates were kind of forced by everyone to be "rivals" after KD decided to go to Golden State in the offseason, and while the meetings between the two so far this season have been confrontational at times, we don't like to view them as rivals.

Instead, we'd rather view them as friends that are just going through a rough patch right now, and while some fans want to see the broken relationship implode even more, we want to see KD and Russ patch things up, and we're not the only ones that want that.

Ahead of the All-Star game Sunday night in which all eyes will be on the rivals as they reunite as teammates for one night, we want to show the world five pictures that display the incredible friendship Durant and Westbrook had before this season.

We know the two probably won't ever be as close as they were in these pictures, but anything is better than where they're at now.

So, with the All-Star game on the horizon, will Steve Kerr reunite KD, Russ and James Harden, or will he keep them separated?
